Can a baby wear a teething necklace?
No, our products are not designed for babies to wear and could cause a strangulation risk. There are other styles of necklaces that are promoted as being safe for children to wear, however we are strongly against this for some of the reasons mentioned here, and therefore do not stock such items. in general we would always advise against putting anything around a babies neck, necklace or otherwise.
Do teething necklaces actually work?
The purpose of a teething necklace is 2-fold. Firstly it acts as a comfort for baby to chew on the food-grade silicone beads, and secondly it serves as a distraction when feeding. Most mums that use our products say it drastically reduces the scratching on their skin by their babies during feeding. They are often referred to as a breast feeding necklace for that reason.
Are silicone teething necklaces safe?
All our products are fully safety tested and only use certified materials. Provided the safety instructions are followed, and the necklace is only ever worn by mum, there are no safety concerns when using a breastfeeding necklace for its intended purpose.
